Owen Hunt and Cristina Yang broke up again in the season 9 finale of Grey's Anatomy after talking about having kids, but do they have a future together when the ABC series returns in the fall?

Actor Jesse Williams (Jackson Avery) opened up with his own opinions on the couple recently, explaining to Cocoa Fab that season 10 is "really all about how Cristina and Owen end up." In his opinion, "They're actually finally done, maybe they're finally done for good."

All of Cristina's past relationships have been dramatic. Even when she agreed to marry Burke, he left her at the alter. Season 10 may focus largely on Cristina and Owen, and where their relationship goes - if anywhere - after the events that took place in the season 9 finale.

Season 9 began with Cristina and Owen living separate lives and working in different hospitals. They then reunited and gave their relationship another go, but one patient that came into Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital changed everything for them. Owen cared for a young boy named Ethan following his mother's death, after they were both admitted into the hospital together.

Ethan's grandmother contemplated between choosing social services for the boy and Owen. Though the doctor wants a child, he suggested turning Ethan over to child services because he cared more about his relationship with Cristina. However, the couple had "the talk" about potentially having children of their own after realizing that he desperately wants children, Cristina walked away from Owen and ended their relationship.

Grey's Anatomy executive producer Shonda Rhimes said in a May interview about Owen and Cristina going into season 10, "Do they still love each other? Absolutely. Is that love ever going to die? I don't know." She added that she stands by Cristina's character and her decision to not have a baby.
