Although it's been a fairly slow process, the pieces of the 50 Shades of Grey movie creatives are finally coming together, as it was just announced that Sam Taylor-Johnson is now attached to direct the racy flick.

According to Deadline, Taylor-Johnson, who directed Nowhere Boy about the Beetles' John Lennon, closed out a search that initially started in June 2012.

The site also stated that Anna Karenina's Joe Wright was a top candidate to direct, but his schedule wouldn't be able to fit 50 Shades.

Other strong candidates for director included Bill Condon of Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Steven Soderbergh of Magic Mike, and Bennett Miller of Money Ball, amongst others.

With the 46-year-old at the helm, there's now speculation that her much younger hubby, Savages Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 23, could potentially play the lead role of Christian Grey.

50 Shades screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who is currently almost finished penning the film script, stated that it would be adhering to the context of E.L. James' books with lots of sex and raunchiness. Producers are shooting for an NC-17 rating, according to a write-up in Style magazine. The movie is slated for its big screen release in the summer of 2014. Check out Taylor-Johnson below in a recent style interview.
