Ewan McGregor filed for divorce from his wife, Eve Mavrakis on Friday, Jan. 19, after being married for more than two decades.

Ewan McGregor Files For Divorce

The Trainspotting actor officially filed the divorce papers on Friday, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind his decision to call it quits, TMZ reported.

According to court documents obtained by the website, McGregor is seeking joint custody of three out of the couple's four children: Clara, 21, Jamyan, 16, Esther, 15, and Anouk, 6.

Mavrakis also filed her response to her estranged husband's filing at the same time. She is asking for sole custody of the children with visitation for McGregor.

McGregor and Mavrakis were introduced to each other while filming the British TV crime series Kavanagh QC and tied the knot in 1995.

Mavrakis is a production designer who was born in France but raised in China. Her credits include 1998's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Dangerous Liaisons, and the Chinese set of Steven Spielberg's 1987 film Empire of the Sun.

Actor's Romance With Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Mavrakis, 51, and McGregor, 46, separated in May last year. However, reports of the pair's split went public in October days after the Star Wars actor was photographed locking lips with his Fargo costar, Mary Elizabeth Winstead in what looked to be a passionate kiss at a West London Café.

The pair cuddled up at the cafe and were spotted leaving together on McGregor's motorbike afterward. He was also pictured walking hand in hand with Winstead on the streets of Los Angeles in November, so their relationship is anything but a secret at this point.

More recently, McGregor thanked Mavrakis and Winstead during his acceptance speech at the Golden Globe Awards earlier this month. Also, he kissed his new ladylove after winning at the Critics Choice Awards a few days later.

Daughter Slams Her Dad

His 15-year-old daughter Esther recently wrote a song slamming the actor over his affair with the 10 Cloverfield Lane actress and posted it on Instagram.

"I don't know how to forgive. I don't know if I can. Ruining me sure made you a man," she sang in the video.

In May, Winstead, 32, also announced that she was parting ways with director husband Riley Stearns. They got married in 2010.

The Scott Pilgrim vs. the World star and McGregor worked together on Season 3 of Fargo as Nikki Swango and Emmit Stussy/Ray Stussy respectively.
