The millions of girls crushing on the singer, who’s dripping with finesse, were hit with some hard news during the Grammy Awards Sunday night.
The Man Of The Hour Shows Love To His Woman
Mars showed love to his longtime girlfriend when he accepted one of the biggest awards of the night—Record of the Year, thanks to his hit “24K Magic.” He beat out “Redbone” by Childish Gambino, “The Story of O.J.” by Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar’s “HUMBLE,” Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Bieber’s hit “Despacito.”
After he urged the audio team to turn up his hit while he accepted the award, pointing out there were “too many ballads” on the lineup for the evening, he went on to give his speech. During his moment, he gave his longtime girlfriend, Jessica Caban, a major shoutout.
“My lady, Jessica, I love you baby,” said Mars. “Thank you for being my rock and being on my side throughout this whole process.”
The camera then panned to Caban as she looked at Mars with pride. The two have been dating since 2011.
Mars also won Album of the Year for 24K Magic, Song of the Year for “That’s What I Like,” Best R&B Album for 24K Magic, and Best R&B Performance for “That’s What I Like.” The song also helped him win Best R&B Song, causing him to take home all of the six awards he was nominated.
Mars won the most awards for the evening. He also hit the stage with rap sensation Cardi B to perform their hit single "Finesse."
Who Is Jessica Caban?
As for Caban, there have been lots of questions about who she is exactly. Word is she’s a model who won the first Model Latina competition. Her prize was a $10,000 contract with a modeling agency.
Caban, whose birthday is reportedly June 13, 1982, is said to be 35. She is Puerto Rican and was raised in New York City.
One of her major breakout modeling gigs was for Jennifer Lopez’s clothing line J-Lo. She was a runner-up in a contest for the line. She also has a recurring role on The CW’s Jane The Virgin.
While Mars and Caban’s romance is news to many of his fans, anyone who has been following her social media pages might have already known something was going on between the two.
She posted a photo of her and Mars together back in October and another in December. She also showed him love on Instagram after his big win Sunday.
