Who would’ve thought Michael B. Jordan still lived with his parents? The actor, who is known for his roles in hit movies like Fruitvale Station, Creed, and the upcoming Black Panther film explained why he still lives at home.

Michael B. Jordan's Living Arrangements

The heartthrob actor stopped by The Ellen Show this week. He had no shame in admitting to staying with his folks during his sit-down with host Ellen DeGeneres. Still, he confessed that he has plans on moving out sooner than later as living with his parents has gotten a bit awkward for him.

“I love my parents but we have a roommate relationship right now which is interesting,” said Jordan. “You get home-cooked meals, but then you also have those random trips to the kitchen in the middle of the night, and just the random run-ins that just might be a little uncomfortable from time to time.”

He elaborated and said those awkward moments sometimes include him being “shirtless” or even “a little naked.” When asked when he wants to move out, he said sooner than later in the kindest way he could.

While he lives with his parents, Jordan made it clear he holds it down when it comes to doing his own chores, like ironing. In fact, he shared the joys he gets when he uses an iron to straighten wrinkled articles of clothing.

“I love ironing, it’s a stress reliever!” added Jordan. “There’s something therapeutic about seeing all these wrinkles and just [presses hands down] and it’s gone.”

He went on to compare his of ironing to his mother’s love of washing dishes. It’s safe to say DeGeneres was fascinated by it all.

The Sacrifices Of Being A Heartthrob

Interestingly enough, it’s not his living situation that has caused him to not have much a social life. Instead, it was getting in shape for his role as Erik Kilmonger in the highly anticipated Black Panther movie that took up all of his spare time.

He shared a bit of his fitness regimen and said he would drink at least a gallon of water a day, exercise up to three times daily, and eat six times daily. He said his “meal prep” strategy didn’t leave too much time for him to hit the club with his friends.

“It’s tough to socialize when you gotta get in shape like that.”
