Once in a while, it is fine to take a break. However, when celebrities announce their intentions to go on hiatus, fans are outraged.

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence caused quite a stir recently when she announced her plans to take a break from the acting world.

Jennifer Lawrence Is Not Going Anywhere

However, Entertainment Weekly reveals that a source close to the Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle actress stated that the X-Men franchise actor is not leaving show business entirely. The source told the entertainment news website that Lawrence would resume her adventures in acting once her projects are ready to be moved from the development stage to the production stage.

Eight Films In Development

While Lawrence is wrapping up post-production of X-Men: Dark Phoenix and finished the spy thriller, Red Sparrow, the Internet Movie Database reported that the actress has eight different films in development. Among Lawrence's films still in production include the war drama It's What I Do, set to be directed by critically acclaimed Steven Spielberg; Adam McKay's Bad Blood, and an upcoming comedy film with her longtime best friend, Amy Schumer.

The Announcement

On Feb. 16, Lawrence told Entertainment Tonight correspondent Carly Steel that she decided to take a break from acting. She revealed that she would be shifting her focus from bringing incredible stories to life to focusing on inspiring the next generation in becoming more active in the political world.

"I'm going to take the next year off. I'm going to be working with this organization as a part of Represent.Us...trying to get young people engaged politically on a local level," Lawrence told Entertainment Tonight.

Lawrence also told the entertainment newscast that Represent.Us does not involve political parties. She added that the nonprofit organization focuses on state laws and battling corruption on every level and Represent.Us's primary mission is to fix the United States of America's democracy.

Her Recent Activities

In addition to preparing to work with Represent.Us, Lawrence has been quite active in the public eye. She wore black to showcase her support of the #MeToo Movement at the BAFTA Awards.

Also, she also had an amazing time at Amy Schumer's surprise wedding to Chris Fischer. On Instagram, the Inside Amy Schumer actress posted a photo of her receiving a kiss from Lawrence during her wedding day.

Lawrence was also spotted in Los Angeles celebrating talk show host Ellen DeGeneres's 60th birthday at a star-studded party.

Also, she showcased her support for E! News host Catt Sadler after the television personality left the network following a pay dispute.
