Ruthie Ann Miles is going through something that no parent should never go through. On Monday, March 5, the Broadway actress lost her daughter.

Farewell, Abigail And Joshua

According to E! News, the New York Police Department stated that Miles, whose real name is Ruthie Ann Blumenstein, was with her 4-year-old daughter Abigail in Brooklyn when a 44-year-old driver of a Volvo lost control of the car and hit both Miles, who is pregnant, and her daughter.

A woman that People Magazine identified as Lauren Lew was also injured in the tragic car accident. Lew was also with her son, 1-year-old Joshua, at the time of the crash. While both mothers survived the accident, both Abigail and Joshua tragically passed away from life-threatening injuries when both kids got to Methodist Hospital.

Meanwhile, Lew was listed in stable condition, while Miles was listed in critical condition.

The Nightmarish Accident

The 44-year-old female driver allegedly lost control of her Volvo when she ran through a red light. Her wild Volvo ended up crashing into several other pedestrians before ending its horrific ride as it crashed into several parked cars.

The driver claimed that she suffered from a seizure, but the New York Police Department stated to People Magazine that the woman already had numerous traffic violations. Police officials said that she ran through red lights at four different times in the past two years and sped through a school zone. While the woman was taken to New York University's Langone Hospital in Manhattan, her information has not been released to the public, and no charges have been filed.

A GoFundMe Success

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help out Ruthie Ann Miles and her family. One of Miles's colleagues, Jack Stephens, spearheaded the Ruthie Ann Miles Fund. Stephens stated that Miles, who won the Best Featured Actress in a Musical Award for her performance in a revival of The King And I in 2015, was beloved by the performing arts industry. As of publication, the campaign has hugely exceeded its fundraising goal of $5,000 with nearly $221,000 in donations.

Celebrity Supporters

Several influential celebrities took to Twitter to help Ruthie Ann Miles and her family out in their time of need. Some of musical theatre's biggest names including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Audra McDonald, and Kristin Chenoweth have shared the GoFundMe page with their social media followers.

Deadly Car Crashes

Other celebrities had experienced first-hand how deadly car crashes can alter lives. Talk show host Steve Wilkos had his one-man car crash when he drove under the influence on Jan. 21. According to the Darien, Connecticut authorities, Wilkos's blood alcohol content registered at .29 percent. He was arrested on Feb. 21 for a DUI and was released after he paid a $1,500 bond.

In February, Luke Wilson walked away unscathed in a deadly car accident in Los Angeles. A Ferrari that carried 50-year-old golf professional Bill Haas crashed into Luke Wilson's Toyota SUV. The driver of the Ferrari passed away on the scene, while Haas was taken to an area hospital.

On Feb. 5, the cast of Dancing with the Stars: LIVE was also involved in an unfortunate car accident when they were on tour in Ames, Iowa. The touring production of the hit ABC ballroom competition was scheduled to perform at the Stephens Auditorium when one of the show's buses was a part of a 70-car pileup outside of Interstate 35.
