Former Destiny's Child member LeToya Luckett expressed her support for Kelly Rowland's personal song Dirty Laundry.

"I'm so glad that she was able to open up," she told HipHollywood at the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards on Thursday night. "That is big of her."

The 32-year-old, who left the band in 2000 because of disagreements, also explained why songs like Dirty Laundry are important for singers.

"She was so honest and it was a vulnerable moment for her and a lot of times we need that; Especially as artists and creative people we have so much stuff locked in that we don't get to express it and she did that with this record," she said.

However, Dirty Laundry, which appears on Rowland's fourth studio album Talk A Good Game, received a lot of criticism because of its lyrics.

"Bird in a cage, you would never know what I was dealing with. Went our separate ways, but I was happy she was killing it. Bittersweet, she was up, I was down. No lie, I feel good for her, but what do I do now," she sings about her Destiny's Child bandmate Beyonce.

Critics have accused Rowland of being jealous of Beyonce and bitter towards to her success. But, when the current X Factor visited Good Morning America on June 19 she said that the song is misinterpreted. She called it a "positive" thing for her.

In addition, she told WKYS FM in May that Beyonce wasn't upset with Rowland after hearing the song. In fact, she was happy for the star.

"She heard how real I was and was like, 'I'm so proud of you,'" she said. "It was the place that I was in, I was so young. My head was completely gone...That's what happened with my sister."
