Cardi B has opened up about her pregnancy reveal and why she waited to do so during an in-depth interview with The Breakfast Club. The rapper admitted she had her doubts about keeping her baby.

Host Charlamagne Tha God asked Cardi if she considered getting rid of her child but she stated that she didn't want to deal with getting an abortion and is ready to be a mom.

"Kinda, sorta I didn't want to deal with the whole with abortion thing. I just didn't want to. You know I'm a grown woman, I'm 25 years old. I'm prepared for this," she statedThe hip-hop artist continued that the pregnancy wasn't planned and she was determined to show her team that her pregnancy wouldn't stop her continuing with her career. 

"I told them, I'm pregnant but I have a game plan. I wanted to show people around me that they would still have a job (laughs)," she continued. 

The rapper has received enormous love and support from fellow musicians and artists but has also received backlash from fans who felt that she should have waited to have a child. 

Cardi B's Rise To The Top 

The hip-hop artist, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzarhad her breakthrough in the music industry after the release of her hit song "Bodak Yellow." In August 2017, the song reached No. 2 on the US Billboard 100 charts. The rapper performed the song at the annual Power 105.1 Powerhouse, where she also got engaged to Offset, who is from the group Migos. 

The "Bartier Cardi" rapper faced backlash from fans due to her relationship with Offset after the Migos member was caught cheating twice. Offset was then accused of impregnating an Instagram model. 

Prior to her pregnancy announcement, the rapper made history when she released her first album, Invasion of Privacy, which was certified gold. The album also features the songs "Drip," "Money Bag," and "She Bad."

The rapper was also a star on the reality television series Love and Hip Hop: New York. Cardi joined the series in 2016 and left in 2017, and is considered one of the show's breakout stars.
