Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and Agent Lisbon (Robin Tunney) will be hard at work tracking down Red John when The Mentalist picks up again for season 6.

Tunney recently spoke with Digital Spy about the upcoming season and the identity of Red John.

"Apparently, we're gonna find Red John in Season 6," Tunney said. "They haven't told me who Red John is, maybe they think I have a big mouth."

The list of possible serial killers has been narrowed to seven and, according to creator Bruno Heller, the seven names are legitimate. He told Entertainment Weekly that out of those names, the cast of the Mentalist will find Red John during season 6. However, fans can rest assured that Jane is not secretly Red John.

This news will come as a relief to Tunney.

"I know that there are people who have speculated that he really is Red John which I really hope he isn't because I'd be spending a lot of time being sexually attracted in a way to a serial killer, and I'm not sure what that says about me," Tunney told Digital Spy.

Since the next season will be focused more exclusively on the hunt for Jane's nemesis, the program will follow a different format then it has in the past.

"I think it's going to be serialized," Tunney speculated about the upcoming episodes. "It's going to be all about finding Red John and not sort of a crime of the week every week. I feel like the show's been on for so long it's nice that they're going to sort of break the regular mold and hopefully it will be sort of reinvigorated."

Although some viewers believe that the show will come to an end once the Red John story line is played out, Tunney states that she is not sure the serial killer plot is what keeps people coming back each week.

"Personally, I think people like to watch the show because they like to watch Simon Baker," Tunney mused, according to Digital Spy. "I feel he is very entertaining to watch and its sort of more off the character of Patrick Jane."

Meanwhile, Heller told Entertainment Weekly that just because the CBI team may catch the killer, it doesn't mean that their stories and reactions to the event are over.
