Queen Latifah is promoting her new self-titled talk show in a recently-released preview promising a Sept. 16 premiere date.

The Queen Latifah Show is set to premiere on Sept. 16, 2013 as a daily, syndicated talk show. The show will feature Latifah interviewing celebrities as well as everyday people, in addition to the host's "comedic take" on pop culture.

"This fall I've got a new talk show," Latifah says cheerfully in the promo, released Jun. 24. "I can't wait for you to see it!" She continues, "it's about laughing, having a good time, you know?"

Latifah does not plan to stay in the studio for every episode, however. She is allegedly planning to take "journeys outside her studio," according to a Tuesday report from USAToday and will also "venture into communities across the country to share compelling stories, celebrate exceptional individuals and deliver life-changing surprises."

This is Latifah's second talk show, after her first one, also titled The Queen Latifah Show, ended in 2001. Her first talk show, which only aired for two seasons, featured many hip-hop and R&B guests, including Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill, Rick James and LL Cool J.

Latifah has also hosted awards shows like the BET Awards in 2010 and the People's Choice Awards, which she hosted for five consecutive years (2007-2011).

Though she rose to prominence from her hip-hop career, she has mostly pursued acting over the past few decades. She played the lead role in Fox's five-season sitcom Living Single in the '90s. She was nominated for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a SAG award for her supporting role in the 2002 musical film Chicago.

In the past few years, she has reprised her voiceover role in the animated film franchise Ice Age. In 2012, she starred in the musical film Joyful Noise with Dolly Parton. She also starred in the 2012 Lifetime remake of Steel Magnolias, playing M'Lynn.

The Queen Latifah Show will premiere on Sept. 16, 2013.
