Another celebrity couple surprises fans by making it official. Katharine McPhee and David Foster are engaged midway through their romantic European vacation.

What About It?

The two were on the Italian island of Capri Sunday when Foster popped the question. According to TMZ, McPhee was FaceTiming with family and friends back home to show off the ring.

Actress and singer McPhee's rep confirmed the happy news in an official capacity, however, the lady herself took to Twitter to further reaffirm her position as a newly engaged woman.

The 34-year-old utilized a sassy Ariana Grande gif and engagement ring emoji for her message, even sharing that her 68-year-old partner got down on one knee in a rather scenic location. The two have been documenting their trip on Instagram over the past few days.

"He did it at the top of this mountain in Anacapri. Totally dark, only stars. Thankfully he didn't push me off the cliff. He said it was one or the other. And in the end he spared me," joked McPhee.

On Tuesday, Foster also confirmed the news on social media. He posted a photo of the two on a boat, one of many they've taken during the trip to mark the occasion. His daughters, 35-year-old Erin and 37-year-old Sara, then joked about McPhee being their new mommy.

Still Not Confirming They're Together

McPhee and her much older partner first sparked dating rumors back in September of last year, when Foster's daughter, Erin, shared a pic of them in L.A.

They've been friends for a while, having met on the set of Idol in 2006 when McPhee was a contestant. However, in this instance, Erin captioned the photo with a joke about her new stepmother, setting tongues wagging.

When put on the spot about the relationship, McPhee batted away any assumptions.

"I think it's so amusing that people are amused by my love life," she said simply.

After being pushed further, the Waitress star set the record straight that she couldn't care less what anybody had to say.

"I'm not doing anything wrong, so whether people think it's true or false ... there's nothing bad happening in my life, so people can just say whatever they want," she stated.

Funnily enough, although she was coy about her relationship with Foster, the two haven't been shy about showing off with PDAs, and attending events together.

The Broadway superstar even described their recent attendance at the Met Gala as a fun date night in conversation with ET.

McPhee was previously married to Nick Cokas. Foster, meanwhile, had a high profile marriage to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Hadid.

This will be his fifth marriage overall. Along with Hadid, Foster was also married to B.J. Cook, Rebecca Dyer, and Linda Thompson.
