Brad Pitt has been seen with a new girl at the concert of Kanye West. He insists, however, that they are "just friends."
Brad Pitt has been seen on multiple occasions with Alia Shawkat. The 55-year-old actor and the 30-year-old Alia were at the "Nebuchadnezzar" opera show of Kanye West in Hollywood Bowl on Sunday. .
An insider close to Brad Pitt told People that he and the "Arrested Development" actress are "just friends." The source added that there is absolutely nothing romantic going on between the two.
Another source told People that the two did not go to Kanye West's concert alone. Brad Pitt was with a group of people, including Alia, to watch the show over the weekend. The source further revealed that the group was seated in a VIP box.
Brad was particularly friendly to Alia, but not in a romantic way, the source said.
Who is Alia Shawkat?
Shawkat may have been spotted with Pitt a number of times, but very little is known about her. The actress has been in the business since 1999, with her first acting credit being in the CBS legal drama "JAG" in 1999.
However, it was only in 2001 when Alia got her big break. She played the young Hannah Reyburn on the show State of Grace.
Alia Shawkat then got the role of Maeby Funke in "Arrested Development" that began airing in FOX in 2003. She continues to be part of the cast as it moved to Netflix. This is the role she is probably most known for.
Alia has also done television guest-starring roles, particularly for "Drunk History" and "Portlandia." Moreover, she is a voice talent as well, doing one for "Big Mouth." One of her more recent projects is "Search Party!" -- a dark comedy project where she playd the character of Dory Sief.
Are Pitt and Shawkat Dating?
After being seen on multiple occasions together, Pitt continues to deny rumors of a romance brewing between him and Alia.
Earlier this month, the two were seen together in an art gallery. A source close to Pitt told People that at that time, the two were mere friends admiring art together.
The pair were at the Wilding Cran Gallery in Los Angeles. Meral Melika Duran, a European Political Strategist, posted a picture of Pitt and Shawkat together at the exhibit where they met Martin Werthmann, the artist behind the works.
"Supporting the artist and the arts," wrote Duran. In the same post, she expressed her gratitude to Pitt for being there and allowing her the pleasure of introducing to him the artist, Martin Werthmann.
Further in the post, she revealed that they had a very interesting conversation. "I like his positive attitude," Duran said referring to Brad Pitt.
Duran also uploaded other pictures of Pitt and Shawkat having conversations with other people in the gallery. In one photo, Pitt can be seen standing near Shawkat talking to different people. In another photo, the two can be spotted talking to each other.
On the same day, the two have been seen having dinner together.
The two were also spotted watching Mike Birbiglia's comedy show last month. They had their selfies taken at the backstage with the comedian himself.
Perhaps, the only question everyone has in mind is this: are Pitt and Shawkat together? Their fans will just have to wait for confirmation.
