As many fans continue to voice their anger about Cote de Pablo's departure from the CBS hit show NCIS, her co-star Pauley Perrette, who plays Abby Sciuto, responded via Twitter.
"Cote's my friend! Love her. You guys writing mean things to ME (?) I'M SAD SHE LEFT TOO! I didn't want her to leave! SAD!" she tweeted on July 27.
Perrette also explained that the fans are a major concern. She wrote, "She left. We are all still here. We love her. We love you. She left. We love you and are working hard to make you happy."
Some of de Pablo's fans were happy with Perrette's words.
"I know u guys r doing ur best w/o her she will b missed! We true fans know this happens! It's sad but the rest of the gang is there," responded one.
However for others, her tweets just weren't comfort enough.
"No matter how hard you work, a lot of us won't be happy anymore. Sad for the rest of the show but don't blame us for speaking up," tweeted another.
De Pablo has played agent Ziva David for eight seasons and her character, which debuted during season 3, has been a crucial part of the investigative team led by Leroy JethroGibbs and Anthony DiNozzo. The 33-year-old actress will return in the fall to properly end her character's role on the hit show, but it's unknown for how many episodes.
The first episode of season 11 will be titled Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, according to TV Line. Actor Colin Hanks will make his return on season 11 as Richard Parsons, the Department of Defense Investigator who is on a quest to take down Gibbs. A new female, named Delilah, will also join the cast as character Timothy McGee's love interest.
NCIS is television's most popular series with a viewership of 22.7 million. Season 11 premieres on Sept. 24.
