Lizzo may be known for being one of the chart-topping musicians of this generation, but she's also willing to take over the film industry as she recently revealed that she auditioned for a role in a specific Disney film.

Speaking in an interview with Variety, the 33-year-old singer told the outlet that she auditioned for the role of Ursula in the live-action film "The Little Mermaid."

However, despite her efforts, she never got the part as Melissa McCarthy is now set to play the octopus creature-like villain.

Although Lizzo was unsuccessful in snatching the role, she revealed how she would portray the villain if she got the part.

"I'm fine as hell. That has nothing to do with Ursula, but I was down to make Ursula a thot," she hilariously said. (via People Magazine)

The Grammy Award-winning songstress is known for her twerking abilities, so she added that her version of Ursula would shake her buttocks.

Elsewhere in the interview, the singer, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, recalled the time when she met McCarthy while watching Adele's "One Night Only" concert in Los Angeles, California.

Lizzo said she introduced herself, saying her name is also Melissa, and auditioned for the role of Ursula. The actress replied to her, "Well, why the hell did I get the part?"

The "Good As Hell" songstress admitted to McCarthy her audition was "terrible," but she clarified to the outlet that it wasn't, saying her just like cracking jokes.

"My audition was good. You can ask Disney. I don't want to talk too much about it. The singing was great. I'll just say that," she added.

"The Little Mermaid" doesn't have an official release date yet, but it will hit theatres anytime around 2023. Rob Marshall directs the long-awaited live-action film.

Aside from the original animated movie, the film will also feature new tracks by Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

According to Insider, Halle Bailey will portray the lead role Ariel, while Jonah Hauer-King will be Prince Eric.

Other cast members include Javier Bardem as King Triton, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, and many more.

A new character will also reportedly be added to the movie that is not in the original animated film. Noma Dumezweni was tapped to play the role.
