The fifth season of "The Crown" is presently in production, but they have apparently experienced horrible crimes.

Police are looking for thieves who stole $180,000 in diamonds and antiques off the set of the hit Netflix show last week.

The upcoming season, starring Imelda Staunton and Dominic West, will take place in the early-to-mid 1990s and will feature a gorgeous Princess Diana, played by Elizabeth Debicki.

Because the former Princess of Wales was known for wearing fine jewelry to public events, the production staff was entrusted with duplicating it.

Among the 200 pieces stolen from the set are gems and silverware, as well as a pricey duplicate of a Russian Faberge Egg purchased by Queen Elizabeth II's grandfather.

Along with the replica egg recovered by King George V in 1933, candelabras, jewelry, a grandfather clock, and a domed birdcage were stolen.

Suspects broke into three cars housing the props near Doncaster, where Imelda Staunton and Jonathan Pryce filmed scenes for their roles.

According to an insider, the criminals broke into the lorries and stole their contents.

"Producers have a remarkable eye for detail, and each item was carefully selected." It's heartbreaking to lose everything."

Now, antique dealers are being advised to keep an eye out for pieces from the haul, which is estimated to be worth around $180,000.

Another TV insider told The Sun that the timing couldn't be worse, because these products don't have backups.

Producers are apparently in a panic as they scramble to find replacements.

But, because the stolen things were one-of-a-kind, they realized it wouldn't be easy.

Meanwhile, South Yorkshire Police said in a statement that investigators are examining the situation.

The most pressing question is whether or not the fifth season of "The Crown" will be postponed.

"Filming will not be hampered," said representatives for the hit show.
