Waddling Into Spin-Off Land! 'The Batman' Spin-Off Series 'The Penguin' To Come to HBO Max Starring Colin Farrell!
The Penguin is officially waddling its way on to HBO Max.
After the smashing success that The Batman proved to be, HBO Max has wasted no time in building off of that momentous win. According to an article on The Hollywood Reporter, a spin-off of The Batman titled The Penguin will be coming to the streaming service.
Colin Farrell will continue to portray the title character in this series. He blew audiences away as The Penguin in The Batman, and now fans who cried for more Farrell will be plesantly surprised to get some!
Farrell is very excited to have an even larger playing ground on which to experiment and grow with the character. He expressed his excitement for the upcoming series in a recent statement.
"The world that Matt Reeves created for The Batman is one that warrants a deeper gaze through the eyes of Oswald Cobblepot...I couldn't be more excited about continuing this exploration of Oz as he rises through the darkened ranks to become the Penguin. Will be good to get him back on the streets of Gotham for a little madness and a little mayhem."
This excitement is shared by all, both on and off of the screen. One of the executive producers, Lauren LeFranc, shared her joy in being able to work within the confines of a universe she has so long been a fan of.
"I have long been a fan of the world of The Batman, and Matt's film is such a powerful and bold entry into the canon...I am excited and humbled to continue telling stories in the grimy world of Gotham City - and what better excuse to channel my inner villain than to tell the story of Oswald Cobblepot?"
