Alvina Stewart, wife of actor Anthony Anderson, has just filed for divorce from her husband of twenty-two years, actor and producer Anthony Anderson, as of Friday.

The reasons behind this filing are yet unknown. Insofar as we know, the grounds for divorce are summarized as, "irreconcilable differences."

According to an article on TMZ, Stewart is trying to get everything covered financially. She is requesting spousal fees from Anderson, and trying to get him to pay for her attorney. Meanwhile, Stewart has checked a box on the forms that blocks the court from awarding any money to the Black-ish star.

Based on the way Stewart is going about these proceedings, it can be inferred that Stewart and Anderson do not have prenuptial agreement. In the state of California, that means everything the couple owns will be split in half unless they reach a seperate agreement. 

While in 2022, this divorce may seem to come out of nowhere, this has not the first time that the married couple has found themselves on the precipice of a legal separation. In 2014, they separated, and while they filed for divorce in 2015, the case was dropped by 2016. The couple has remained together since that time. 

The soon to be ex-couple has two children together: Natahan is 22, and Kyra is 26. Since both of their children are above 18, there will be no question of child support in these proceedings.

We hope that the two are able to work this out as amicably as possible...and who knows, maybe it'll end up being another close call.
