ABC's Castle continues to gear up for its sixth season, as more information has come out on the Frank "Sully" Sullivan character that will be coming aboard.

According to TVLine, Sully will be an NYPD detective in his late 20s or early 30s that's described as a "guy's guy."

Carter Matt points out that since there wouldn't be a huge point in showing the department without Castle (Nathan Fillion) or Beckett (Stana Katic) in the scene, the newbie detective will surely be brought in to interact with one of them in some way, shape or form.

Sully will be present on the third episode of the upcoming season, which willl be titled Need to Know. The site reported that the storyline will have "a pretty comical premise in that the story revolves mostly around the star of a cheesy, Saved By the Bell-like classic TV that witnesses a tragedy when one of the actors is killed while filming some sort of reunion."

In other Castle casting news, the program has previously attached a guest star in former 24 standout Glenn Morshower.

According to TV Guide, the actor will be playing Michael Reed, an ex-general with big secrets he's hoping won't get out to the public.

Although no airdate has been officially announced, ABC's Castle should be kicking off on either Monday, September 23 or the following week. Keep checking back for more of the latest details on the ABC series. A fan-made trailer of the upcoming season can be watched below
