Stranger Things season four is here!!!

The 1980s set show that brought us all into the upside down has finally returned to Netflix for the penultimate season.

This was originally intended to be their final season, until the Duffer Brothers sent out a letter to fans – well, a picture of a letter was posted on Instagram. This isn't *actually* the 1980s.

The letter announced that, due to the overwhelming mass of content, the final season would become two final seasons.

Now, finally, the first of the two has just been released to Netflix.

In this season, the original group of misfit kids have transformed into a group of high schoolers, now separated. We see bullies being mean. We see high school being high school.

Furthermore, as the kids grow up, times are changing as well. The cultural context of the early 1980s is far different from the mid to late 80s. The Cold War continues on, but the first whispers of the Satanic Ritual Abuse Scare are starting to come up.

For a group that has exclusively dealt with otherworldly, demonic creatures, we are very excited to see how the cultural context and the supernatural reality of their situation come together.

The show's stars, who we have come to know and love, are all returning for season four. This includes Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, and Gaten Matarazzo.

In just a few short weeks, Matarazzo will be embarking on a new and exciting creative adventure. He will be joining the Broadway cast of the Tony Award winning musical Dear Evan Hansen. He will be taking on the role of Jared.

Stranger Things season four is out on Netflix now.
