Apple is beginning to infiltrate the low-end smartphone market and a new video potentially shows the casing for the iPhone 5C.

Believed to be the new, plastic, low-cost iPhone, the alleged 5C outer shell is monochrome and remarkably similar to the iPhone 5 but with a slightly less streamlined look.

Based on images of potential cases for the plastic device, MacRumors believes the new phone will be slightly larger than the current iPhone 5 due to having a plastic shell. Sporting rounder corners than it's full price counterpart, the 5C is suspected to come in multiple colors. The alleged shell shown in the new video comes in the standard Apple white.

As for hardware, less is known about the inner workings of the low-cost iPhone than of the upcoming iPhone 5S. However, it is suspected that the new device will have many of the same features as the full-fledged iPhone. MacRumors speculates that the 5C and the 5S will sport the same logic board. The idea is supported by similar screw placement on the 5S logic board and the inside of the 5C shell. The site also predicts that the 5C will be outfitted with the same 8-megapixel camera as the iPhone 5.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities predicts that the iPhone 5C will be ready for stores in early September, according to the International Business Times.
