Juan Pablo Galavis has been announced as the new Bachelor on ABC's hit reality TV show.

The news was made official during the "After the Final Rose" special following the dramatic Bachelorette finale with Desiree Hartsock.

After going home in episode six of this season, Juan Pablo is getting a second chance at love as the next Bachelor.

Beginning in January 2014, he'll be handing out roses to 25 eligible bachelorettes.

"It was hard to make the decision. It's a great responsibility, because I'm going to find, hopefully, the person who's going to be with me and my daughter," Juan Pablo said after Chris Harrison made the big announcement.

Fans came to love Juan Pablo during the ninth season of The Bachelorette. The 32-year-old former Venezuelan soccer stud and single dad has a 4-year-old daughter, Camila, from a previous relationship.

"In the history of this show, no guy has made a greater impact with less screen time than our soccer-playing single dad," Harrison said of the Bachelor-to-be during the "Men Tell All" special earlier this season. "He's the fan favorite we barely got to know!"

When asked about what he's looking for as the Bachelor, the birthday boy said, "That mom for [my daughter] Camila and someone I can spend many years [with] together."

Earlier this month, Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock admitted she wanted frontrunner Zak Waddell to be the next Bachelor.

In her Bachelorette blog, she wrote: "He is so deserving of love. I would love to see him have the opportunity to choose from 25 suitable women to find it."

During Monday's night dramatic finale episode of The Bachelorette, Desiree found love, picking Chris Siegfried.
