Brad Pitt desperately wants to have a smooth relationship with his kids despite the downs in his situation with Angelina Jolie.

While the ending that is both beneficial for Pitt and Jolie is yet to be seen, the actor is said to be "maintaining his positive attitude" for the sake of his children.

The "Ad Astra" star is in hot water after Jolie's lawsuit regarding their infamous plane fight in 2016 emerged. In response to this, a source close to Pitt told PEOPLE that the actor is hoping to reach a better place soon amid the "sad situation" he is currently in.

The 58-year-old Hollywood star reportedly aims to have an ideal relationship with his children - Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox.

"Since Angelina filed for divorce, Brad has been focused on having the best relationship possible with his kids. It's been very difficult for him. Many times, there have been long gaps where he didn't see the kids at all," the source said.

The insider added that Pitt already misses his kids especially since it is very seldom to see them after the divorce.

Amid the issues in his life, he reportedly maintains a "positive" attitude while trying to win his children.

But another source revealed that Jolie wanted to bring up a painful issue to hurt her ex-husband.

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie's New Issue

Pitt has been receiving hate comments after Jolie's past lawsuit against the FBI emerged.

The "Maleficent" actress questioned the FBI after Pitt managed to clear his name after "physically and verbally assaulting" her and their children during the private plane encounter. Puck News' Eriq Gardner (per The Wrap) first shared the documents, confirming that it was Jolie who sued the FBI under the Freedom of Information Act.

Since Pitt was never arrested and the probe was halted immediately, Jolie sought an explanation for the intriguing decision.

Meanwhile, a source told Radar Online that there is a never-before-seen video of the fight that could prove the actress's claims. The clip in question reportedly captured Pitt leaving the jet before his drunken joyride in a golf cart.

Aside from the FBI, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services also received a call from an anonymous person saying that Pitt hurt his children and Jolie.

Pitt has not commented on the allegations, but he previously denied hurting Maddox.
