Meghan Markle instantly left a strong impression in her newly-released podcast by revealing Archie's near-death experience.

On the first episode of Markle's "Archetypes" podcast, the Duchess of Sussex sat down alongside her first guest, Serena Williams, and talked about several topics about their lives and careers.

Elsewhere in the talk, the actress-turned-royal revealed a story about an incident that almost harmed her first-born child.

According to Markle, she and Prince Harry were informed about a fire in Archie's nursery while the family was on their South Africa tour in 2019.

The then-four-month-old Archie was with her nanny, Lauren, at the time of the incident. Fortunately, the "amazing nanny" brought the child with her downstairs to grab a snack when the fire engulfed the room.

"In that amount of time that she went downstairs, the heater in the nursery caught on fire. There was no smoke detector, someone happened to just smell smoke down the hallway, went in, fire extinguished. He was supposed to be sleeping in there," the Duchess said, as quoted by Yahoo! Life.

She recalled feeling terrified after hearing the news. Despite that, she and Prince Harry went on to go to another official engagement after ensuring Archie's well-being.

Meghan and Prince Harry's first child, who is now 3 years old, had his first official engagement during their meeting with Archbishop Desmond Tutu and his daughter, Thandeka Tutu-Gxashe.

Meghan Markle Hears Serena Williams' Tough Motherhood Journey

Markle started sharing the experience after learning about Williams' heartbreaking experience before the French Open in 2018.

The tennis champion disclosed that her child, Olympia, fell out of her high chair and injured her wrist. She described what she felt after the incident as something devastating as she could feel the guilt of not being able to take care of her.

Williams was still able to rush her to the hospital. Although she had a game the next day, she spent the whole night hugging her child and rocking her to sleep.

The athlete has been known as a perfectionist mother. Because of what happened, she felt so mad that she only managed to sleep for 30 minutes before the match.

Markle, on the other hand, praised her longtime pal for continuing the game despite the personal problem.

"Archetypes with Meghan" will have 12 episodes that will focus on women's inspiring stories. After Williams, Meghan will welcome Mariah Carey to the podcast, per Harper's Bazaar.
