Halloween is not a room for people who dress up as Jeffrey Dahmer, critics fumed.

Ahead of this year's Halloween season, the internet expressed its shock as more people bought Dahmer-inspired costumes on eBay and other online stores. Multiple news outlets, including the New York Post and Radar Online, revealed that replicas of the murderer's gold eyeglasses and short blonde wig recently became hot tickets online.

There have also been sweaters with the text "I Eat Guys Like You For Breakfast" that are being sold after the release of "Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" on Netflix. Mask, retro shirts, and orange prison jumpsuits also became hot buys online.

A news outlet clarified, though, that major retailers like Party City, Halloween.com, and Spirit do not have Jeffrey Dahmer costumes.

Still, the emergence of disturbing costumes was disrespectful to the families of the 17 men and young boys Dahmer killed years ago. In response to this, critics and internet users slammed those who opted to wear Dahmer-inspired costumes ahead of and on Halloween.

One of the people who copied Dahmer's style, Sophia Casanova, shared a photo of her wearing a similar shirt the killer wore when he got his mug shot taken. Instagram already took down the photo, but she reposted them again.

Meanwhile, a nightclub in France revealed it would push through a Dahmer-themed Halloween Party this year.

Families of Jeffrey Dahmer's Victims Already Had Enough

The costumes, unfortunately, reminded the victims' families of the murderer who killed, dismembered, and ate men before his arrest.

The late convicted murderer claimed the lives of 17 men and teens from 1978 to 1991. The 17 victims were Steven Hicks, Steven Tuomi, Jamie Doxtator, Richard Guerrero, Anthony Sears, Ricky Beeks, Eddie Smith, Ernest Miller, David Thomas, Curtis Straughter, Errol Lindsey, Anthony Hughes, Konerak Sinthasomphone, Matt Turner, Jeremiah Weinberger, Oliver Lacy, and Joseph Bredehoft.

Dahmer was only arrested after his almost 18th victim, Tracy Edwards escaped from him and informed the cops what happened inside his Milwaukee apartment.

The Dahmer-themed Halloween plans became the latest things to rub the victims' families after Netflix released the "retraumatizing" series on its platform.

Errol Lindsey's cousin, Eric Perry, and Tony Hughes' mother, Shirley, already spoke up regarding the series. But Netflix is yet to respond to their comments.
