Brendan Fraser on 'The Mummy' Sequel Possibility

Additionally, on the subject of Dwayne Johnson, Brendan Fraser recently told Variety that he would be open to reprising his role in a sequel to "The Mummy Returns", although The Rock has not made any comment on returning to the film franchise.

"I don't know how it would work," he said. "But I'd be open to it, if someone came up with the right conceit."

Additionally, Fraser commented on the 2017 reboot of "The Mummy" which was led by Tom Cruise, "It is hard to make that movie. The ingredient that we had going for our Mummy, which I didn't see in the new one, was fun. That was what was lacking in that incarnation. It was too much of a straight-ahead horror movie. The Mummy should be a thrill ride, but not terrifying and scary."

Brendan Fraser's "The Whale" is set to premiere in the United States on December 9, 2022. The film marks his first lead role since the 2013 film, "Breakout".
