Prince Harry claimed in his recent statement amid his battle for security protection in the U.K. that he "felt forced" to leave the royal family.

As part of the three-day hearing in London, his lawyers shared a statement from the Duke of Sussex, who did not appear in court. Prince Harry claimed that he "felt forced" to step back from his royal duties and leave his home country in 2020 due to security concerns.

However, several critics hit back at Prince William's brother because he previously said in a past interview that he never really liked England that much.

"I never want to sit down in the Windsors because I generally don't like England that much, and it's nice to be away from all the prying press and the papers and the general show that they ran," Prince Harry said in an interview when he was still in the Army.

The clip resurfaced after one netizen shared it amid Prince Harry's recent claim in his security protection hearing.

"He is such a big liar who can't keep up with his narratives.. does he think we are all stupid and that we can't find old stuff he says online anymore?" one furious netizen asked.

"He is a practiced liar. He clearly said he doesn't like England, and his home is now America. To win a court case, he's willing to completely change his story. Just like that very telling email where he wrote about 'pulling the heartstrings' of the public. He's as evil as his wife!" another added.

"It's a load of nonsense. Harry declared his intention to leave to forge their own life outside the country and life as working royals. It makes me furious and sick to my stomach that he is playing the victim like this. He's such a tosser," a third user opined.

Meanwhile, some came to Prince Harry's defense. One said he was probably referring to the British media.

"He was most likely referring to the press intrusion in his life," one wrote. Another added, seemingly shading the user who shared the old interview, "Why is the mole living in the past? Just jealous and trying to stir up trouble. Bless your heart!"

"England will [always] be Harry's home, he was born here and grew up here. So he doesn't like England much ..... the way it's going nor do I, but hey, we don't all have that choice, do we?" another commented, pointing out why Prince Harry may still want to return to the U.K.

Prince Harry pursued legal action when he was stripped of his publicly funded security after stepping back from his royal duties. The Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) decided not to provide him 24/7 protection but would protect him on a "case by case" basis, depending on the threat level assessment following his royal exit.

Rafe Heydel-Mankoo, a historian and broadcaster, recently reacted to Prince Harry's fight for security, calling it nonsense.

"This is all complete nonsense, actually, because he is getting protection," Heydel-Mankoo said. "If he comes to attend royal events, he will receive royal protection. They have bespoke protection plans for him, depending upon his needs. But he has such an inflated impression of what he needs and his importance."
