ATLANTA, GEORGIA - JANUARY 05: Rapper YFN Lucci performs onstage during "Joy To The Polls" pop up concert on January 05, 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia.

In January 2021, YFN Lucci faced murder charges for allegedly killing James Adams in Atlanta.

The "Everyday We Lit" rapper recently reached a deal with prosecutors, agreeing to plead guilty to one count of violating the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, per The Associated Press.

YFN Lucci's legal team, including lawyers Gabe Banks, Marissa H. Goldberg, and Donald Trump's attorney Drew Findling stated that the murder charge was one of 12 counts dismissed in the plea agreement. In an email to Pitchfork, they explained that after three years of pretrial proceedings, extensive jury selection, and three years of incarceration awaiting trial, the prosecution finally dismissed the murder and RICO charges against Lucci, born Rayshawn Bennett.

Following the dismissal of 12 out of 13 counts, Lucci pleaded to one gang-related count. Despite the resolution, he maintains his non-cooperation stance in other cases. With this agreement, he becomes eligible for parole in as early as four months. The prosecution has also concurred on an early release on parole, allowing him to reunite with his children, family, and resume his rap career.

According to Atlanta's WSB-TV, prosecutors suggested a 20-year sentence for the 32-year-old, with a split of 10 years in prison and 10 years on probation. Lucci, who has been in custody since surrendering to authorities in January 2021, would receive credit for time served.

He becomes eligible for parole in three and a half months, and if granted, he could complete the remaining sentence under probation terms.
