A royal expert's statement about Prince Harry's alleged feelings for his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, received objections from several netizens claiming it was the opposite.

Ingrid Seward, the editor of Majesty magazine, spoke about the closeness between Prince William's wife and brother in an interview with The Telegraph while promoting her new book "My Mother and I."

She claimed, "Maybe Harry was a little in love with Kate," which raised several eyebrows online.

Many netizens argued with Seward. They also made unfounded claims that it was the other way around and that it was Middleton who was in love with her brother-in-law.

"Kate is in love with Harry, always has been, but Harry is in love with his wife, and it drove Kate crazy because her own husband doesn't love her and constantly cheats on her," one claimed.

"More like Harry made Kate's life bearable. When he fell in love with Meg, Kate lost it. Made life horrible for H&M. William knew Kate had fallen in love with H!!! End game!" a second user opined.

"If anyone was 'a little in love' it was Waity. There's even fanfic romance novels about 'the commoner' who was in love with 'the Spare' but married the heir," a third person said.

Some netizens blew the issue out of proportion by bringing back old reports and a blog claiming Middleton was "increasingly over-involved in Prince Harry's life." They insisted it was evidence of Middleton's alleged romantic feelings for her brother-in-law.

However, several also defended Middleton. For them, the Princess of Wales and Duke of Sussex only saw each other as siblings due to their relationship with the heir to the throne.

"I believe Catherine loved Harry, more in a platonic than a sexual way, he gave her strength in coping with her life, a life without emotional feelings from her husband, Harry did this for Diana too, helped in making the outstanding man he is today, not [Meghan]'s problem at all," one wrote.

"Assuming, in a parallel universe, Kate was 100% nice & innocent. Even then, I don't think Harry would be in love with her, nor she with him. Not remotely each other's type. Zero romantic 'chemistry.' He needs strong & resolute, and she needs the same. Hence, no go," a different netizen suggested.

Prince Harry and Middleton used to be very close before Meghan Markle arrived in their lives. He was even dubbed the third wheel for the Prince and Princess of Wales because the trio was always together when they attended royal engagements.

In his memoir "Spare," Prince Harry described Middleton as "the sister I never had." He also called his sister-in-law "carefree, sweet and kind," Mirror reported.
