Queen Mary and King Frederik had a ski trip for their Easter break. However, the couple appeared frosty, according to a report.

The Danish royals, who took over the throne in January, visited an exclusive ski resort in Switzerland in March. However, their trip to Verbier didn't help quash the affair rumors that plagued the King because the royal couple reportedly "appeared very frosty with one another," according to the Daily Mail.

In some snaps by the outlet, Queen Mary looked impatient as she turned her back from her husband while they got ready to take on the slopes. She looked away while he stood beside her with his hands on his hips.

King Frederik and Queen Mary were joined by their four kids for the trip -- Crown Prince Christian, 18, Princess Isabella, 16, and 13-year-old twins, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.

In other shots, Queen Mary was spotted with their son, Christian, and daughter, Isabella, who appeared to have had some friends in tow. Meanwhile, King Frederik was seen skiing with the twins.

The family often travels for Easter. Recently, Queen Margrethe, 83, told the Danish publication Her&Nul that she would act as head of state while the whole family traveled abroad.

Last week, Queen Mary resumed her royal duties solo. She marked the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Home Guard and inaugurated a Deer Park in Copenhagen. She was also in attendance at the Specialists' 20th anniversary at the National Museum in Copenhagen on Tuesday, per Hello!

King Frederik was noticeably missing during the outings. His Majesty was last seen on March 21 with Queen Mary when they visited the new exhibition, Frederik X: King Of Tomorrow, at Amalienborg Museum.

In January, Queen Margrethe of Denmark signed a declaration of abdication, making her eldest son, Frederik, the new monarch. The prime minister proclaimed Frederik the new King on the balcony of Christiansborg Castle.

King Frederik delivered a short speech, and he and his wife, Queen Mary, sealed the start of their reign with a kiss.

However, there were rumors weeks before Frederik's ascension that he had cheated on his wife. It was allegedly the reason Her Majesty abdicated because she wanted to save her son's marriage.

"I think Margrethe may have worried that their marriage was in trouble, and therefore she had to act," said royal biographer Phil Dampier, former royal correspondent for The Sun and author of "Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan in Their Own Words."

"The Queen always thought Mary was a fantastic asset to the royal family, and if she thought she might leave, it would have been a disaster. She will now hope that Frederik and Mary patch up any differences and work together as the new King and Queen."
