Meghan Markle has undergone a smile transformation over the years, according to dental experts.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, has a perfect Hollywood smile during red carpet events. However, an expert dentist has claimed that she had multiple dental procedures to achieve her pearly white smile.

Cosmetic dentist Dr. Ferakh Hamid from Aesthetique Dental Care weighed in on the former actress' flawless smile. Hamid was convinced that Markle had orthodontic treatments to address the gaps between her teeth as teeth "naturally shift over time," causing misalignment. Orthodontic treatments make one's smile more appealing and improve oral health, according to Hamid, per Mirror.

Hamid also noticed the subtle change in Markle's front teeth. He speculated that it "could be due to cosmetic contouring."

"This procedure involves carefully reshaping the teeth by trimming small amounts of enamel," he explained.

"It's a conservative approach to making minor adjustments to the teeth's shape or size, particularly effective when certain teeth appear disproportionately long. The goal is to create a more balanced and harmonious smile, enhancing its overall appearance without extensive dental work."

Third, Hamid pointed out the noticeable "whiteness" of the Duchess of Sussex's teeth. The dentist believes that Markle had professional tooth whitening treatments.

"These treatments, conducted under the supervision of a dental professional, use stronger whitening agents than those available over the counter, achieving more dramatic and lasting results," he added.

The expert also touched on the speculation about Markle having veneers. He said the rumors swirled because of the "uniform appearance of her teeth in terms of alignment, color and sizes." According to him, in Prince Harry's wife's case, it was for "aesthetics."

"They can address a variety of dental imperfections, including gaps, misalignment, uneven tooth sizes and discoloration. Veneers provide a versatile and durable solution for achieving a perfect smile, suggesting a meticulous approach to dental aesthetics in Meghan's case," he explained.

Lastly, Hamid said it was reasonable to assume Markle "follows a regime of routine dental care." Per Hamid, the routine probably includes regular dental check-ups, professional cleanings, whitening sessions and minor adjustments.

"Such maintenance is crucial for preserving the results of any dental enhancements and ensuring the lasting beauty of her smile," Hamid said.

Dr. Rhona Eskander of the Chelsea Dental Clinic also acknowledged Markle's "teeth makeover." In a video obtained by Hello! magazine, Eskander pointed out Markle's "white straight teeth." Before that, she allegedly had "diastema," a little gap between teeth.

"As you get older your teeth become more crowded, so as you age the gaps between your teeth can close naturally," Eskander explained. "Meghan might have had orthodontic treatment such as braces to close up the gap and widen her smile."

Since Markle's teeth haven't changed much, the expert said that "it's unlikely she's had composite bonding or veneers." However, just like Hamid, she noticed that Markle's two front teeth now appear slightly shorter, which could be due to contouring. She also noted that Markle may have had professional tooth whitening because her teeth are "very, very white."
