Donald Trump has been given permission by a judge to skip court to attend his son Barron Trump's high school graduation, sparking jokes and mockery toward the teen and his mom Melania Trump on social media.

Weeks after Trump repeatedly complained about potentially missing his youngest child's big day due to his New York hush money trial, Judge Juan Merchan announced Tuesday that court would be paused on May 17 so that the former president can attend Barron's graduation in Palm Beach, Florida, The Hill reported.

Users on X, formerly Twitter, immediately began trolling Trump, his wife Melania, and Barron, suggesting the judge's decision was bad news for all of them because the GOP 2024 presidential candidate was now actually expected to attend his son's graduation.

One X user wrote, "Barron Trump [right now]," alongside the meme of Jonah Hill shaking his head in refusal.

"BREAKING: Barron Trump has appealed Judge Merchan's decision to let his father attend his graduation," another joked.

"Melania upon hearing the news that Donald can go to Barron's graduation," another user tweeted alongside a video showing the former first lady's smile dropping from her face.

"The judge is letting Trump go to Barron's graduation which is undoubtedly the last thing he wanted because he can't whine about it anymore and now he actually has to go to the damn thing," a fourth person wrote, adding a laughing emoji.

"Poor Barron" also became a trending topic on X Tuesday as users expressed sympathy for the 18-year-old over his father attending his high school graduation.

"Poor Barron, his disgusting father has to actually attend his graduation now because the judge called his bluff," one person commented.

Another user wrote, "Poor Barron. Donald is now gonna have to show up to his graduation. Methinks he's not gonna be pleased having his classmates['] thunder stolen when Trump makes their graduation all about him. Or having them bring up how daddy was cheating on his mom when she was pregnant with him."

Trump supporters, however, fired back at the comments speculating about Trump's relationship with his son.

One person described Trump and Melania as "great parents," adding: "Poor Barron? Don't worry about Barron, he'll be fine."

"Poor Barron isn't poor, and never will be. He's rich in family and wealth," another supporter tweeted.

The judge's decision came two weeks after Trump publicly slammed Merchan when he delayed ruling on the former president's request to attend Barron's graduation ceremony.

According to the Daily Mail, Trump told reporters outside the Manhattan courtroom in mid-April that he believed the judge would not allow him to skip the "scam trial" and fulfill his son's wish to see both of his parents at his high school graduation.

He added that Barron worked "very, very hard" and had been "looking forward, for years, to having his graduation with his mother and father there."

However, Trump's former "fixer" and lawyer Michael Cohen was skeptical of his ex-boss' claims, alleging on the "Political Beatdown" podcast that he never showed interest in Barron's schooling before.

Cohen also said he believed that Melania likely prefers that her husband would not be allowed to attend the ceremony.

"I'm sure Melania is extremely excited he's not gonna be there," Cohen said.

Trump faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election to buy her silence over her alleged affair with him.

He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and denied the affair accusations.
