Manchester United will take on Swansea City in the first game of their 2013 Barclays Premier League campaign on Aug. 17.

All eyes will be on United, not just because they are defending champions, but more so because for the first time in 26 years, the Reds will be taking the field without their famed former coach Sir Alex Ferguson. The revered manager oversaw United's 13 Premier League titles and two UEFA Champions Leagues titles during his tenure.

New coach David Moyes will undoubtedly face unparalleled scrutiny as Man U's new coach. The former Everton manager won't be able to ease his way into his new position either, as his team faces stiff competition early in the new season.  After their matchup with Swansea City on Saturday, the team will face the EPL's best, with game against Chelsea, Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Manchester City.

But at least on Sunday, Moyes will face a Swansea City team he has had success against in the past. As the coach of Everton, Moyes defeated City by margins of 2-0 and 3-0.

Swansea midfielder Leon James Britton, who played in both defeats to Everton, said Moyes' team was the one of the most difficult tests City faced.

"With his Everton teams, David Moyes did well when he came here and they were probably the most convincing team we have played in the Premier League at the Liberty," he told ESPN FC."He seemed to get his tactics spot on, but hopefully come Saturday that won't be the case.
