A rather miffed Taylor Swift appeared to mouth, "Shut the f*** up," as One Direction band member and Swift's ex, Harry Styles started speaking on stage while presenting the award for Best Pop Video.

Swift expressed her frustration to her friend, Selena Gomez, who was seated next to her at the event. She said the words somewhere between where Zayn Malik ended his bit with, "The best fans are in New York," and where Styles took over. "We were looking to win three VMAs last year," Styles said.

When Gomez won the award Swift was extremely ecstatic for her friend. But she was not done with dissing Styles.

Later in the evening, when she won an award for Best Female Video for her song, I Knew You Were Trouble, she took another jab at him in her acceptance speech.

Dressed in a shimmering black gown, she was graceful at first, letting Daft Punk (who presented her with the award) know that she was a huge fan of theirs and moving on to thank her fans.

But her last thank you was the most memorable, as she took a subtle swipe at the inspiration (Styles) behind her break-up anthem:

"I also want to thank the person who inspired this song, he knows exactly who he is, because now I've got one of these!"

Swift's I Knew You Were Trouble won the Best Female Video. She was up against Miley Cyrus' We Can't Stop, Demi Lovato's Heart Attack, P!nk's Just Give Me a Reason, and Rihanna's Stay.

There have also been fresh reports about Styles new mystery girlfriend.
