A single parent for the last 15 years, Couric raised her two daughters - 17-year-old Carrie and 22-year-old Ellie - alone following her husband's death in 1998. Although she recently stated that she no longer felt marriage was a necessity for a long-term relationship, the daytime host will now be making her family a little bit bigger.

"I had such a happy marriage. I loved my husband so much," Couric said, according to People. "It's nice to finally meet somebody who has so many of the values that he had. That's been a real comfort."

The announcement comes just as Couric is preparing to premiere the second season of her eponymous ABC talk show. While the first season reportedly had a few rocky moments as the journalist tried to find a balance between hard news, helpful life tips, and gossip, the program still managed to garner acceptable ratings.

With guests Lil Wayne, Michael Strahan, and a surprise female guest, Katie kicks of its second season today. See below for a clip of Couric's interview with the I am Not a Human Being II rapper.
