There is less than a week to go before NCIS: Los Angeles fans will find out how Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) weathered his unwanted experience with torture.

It has been stated that the LAPD liaison will not deal well with the ordeal, particularly since it comes directly after he finally worked up the nerve to advance his relationship with Kensi  (Daniela Ruah).

"For Deeks, this is not his background. He was a lawyer. He got into being a detective and then all of a sudden he's tortured for 7 hours," Olsen said of his character, according to TV Fanatic. "He doesn't have the ability, at this point, to compartmentalize and fight through it. It's the most raw he's ever been. It's the most vulnerable he's ever been."
While he recovers from his physical and emotional trauma, Deeks will also have to deal with the fact that a romantic relationship with his partner is probably not something that is in the cards for him.

"He -- especially when he has those kind of emotions -- he has an inability to articulate how he feels, especially with her. I think that you have that moment of clarity and I think we have this in our own lives which is just those perfect moments of clarity in which everything makes sense in the world," Olsen said, according to TV Fanatic. "That was that moment. That was that kiss. And, that was that moment after that kiss. It's just like that's it. And, then we spend the rest of our lives trying to get back to that moment. And now we've put all these obstacles in his path to get back to the place where it was that. Which is this is how I feel. This is how I feel about you. And, this is what I want. And, now that's all out the window."

On a lighter note, the actor also revealed that viewers will finally find out what's in the box. While the premiere may break fans' hearts, at least the solution to one long running mystery is in sight.

NCIS: LA returns to CBS on Sept. 24.
