'Once Upon a Time' Season 3 Spoilers: First Look at Ariel & Does Regina Turn Into Ursula? [VIDEO]
New footage for the upcoming third season of Once Upon a Time was released this week, including the first look at JoAnna Garcia as Ariel.
TVGuide released a photo Monday of Ariel dancing with Prince Eric for an upcoming episode of the show. Fans should expect the producers to pay homage to 1989's The Little Mermaid in episode 6, titled Ariel. Series co-creator Adam Horowitz said that there would be a fork included in the episode, a nod to a scene from the beloved Disney film. See the photos here.
"Once we realized we were going to Neverland, it felt like the perfect place to see Ariel," said series co-creator Edward Kitsis. Season 3 finds Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and the gang traveling to Neverland to save Henry (Jared S. Gilmore). However, the gang will run into a group of petulant mermaids on their way, one of which includes Ariel.

Kitsis also addressed speculation that Regina (Lana Parrilla) might turn into Ursula, the villain of The Little Mermaid. "In a world where our crocodile turns out to be Rumpelstiltskin, you never know what might happen," he teased.
In other Once Upon a Time news, another promo trailer was released for the first few episodes of the season. The trailer features Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) telling the gang in Neverland that the whole island is full of traps. There is also a figure in silhouette who is suggested to be Peter Pan.

Season 3 of Once Upon a Time premieres Sunday, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
