Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly took their son, Prince George on a mini vacation at the Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

The family stayed at Balmoral from Sept. 15 to Sept. 23 and enjoyed fun outdoor activities, that included hiking through the woods and playing golf. Middleton and George had some mother-son bonding time and played in the garden. The newborn even met his great-grandfather Prince Philip for the first time.

The trip was "a wonderful change of scene" for Will and Kate, a source told Us Weekly. "More space and time with the family, which the love."

The site also reported that the couple set up camp at Craigowan Lodge, a seven-bedroom stone house a mile from the queen's castle.

The family hosted VIP guests while also in Scotland, including New Zealand Prime Minister John Key, and his 18-year-old son, Max, and 20-year-old daughter, Stephanie.

"It was a truly remarkable and extraordinary experience," Key said in an interview with The New Zealand Herald. They were extremely generous hosts and we had a fantastic weekend. We were invited in as guests in their private family time."

Prince George already has travelled a few places, including all around the United Kingdom and from London to Bucklebury, to Anglesey, Wales.

Middleton has already applied for Georgie's passport.

"We are all very hopeful of coming to Australia next year," Prince William told guests at the Anglesey show in Wales back in August.
