Justin Bieber kicked off his Music Mondays project on Oct. 7 with the release of his highly anticipated new single, Heartbreaker, at midnight.

The R&B sound has the 19-year-old singing about rekindlng the flame he had with a former love. No matter how much she does not want to pick up the phone to hear his pleas, he is not ready to let her go.

"Don't tell me you're my heartbreaker/ 'Cause girl my heart's breaking," he sings on the chorus. "Don't tell me you're my heartbreaker/ 'Cause girl my heart's breaking (heartbreaker)."

Mid-song, Bieber goes: "So what I'm really tryin to say is, and what I hope you understand/ Is despite all the imperfections of who I am I still wanna be your man."

Along with the song's release, Bieber tweeted Monday night, "You will know my words, my heart. #journals."

Heartbreaker is available for download on iTunes. Describing the track -- off his upcoming, yet-untitled album -- and the inspiration behind it, Bieber said it was written when he was going through a tough time.

"It's a song for people going through a heartbreak - like I was when I wrote it," he wrote of Heartbreaker, which alludes to his break-up with Selena Gomez late last year, in the song's iTunes description, which he then posted on Twitter. "It means so much to me to be able to share what I was, and still am going through, with my fans. I'm very proud of this song and I hope it gives my fans some insight into my heart."

In a movement he is calling "#MusicMondays," the Canadian will be releasing a new song every week at midnight for the next 10 weeks. The plan leads up to Bieber's upcoming movie, a follow-up to 2011's Never Say Never.
