Once Upon a Time fans waiting for another flashback for Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) will get their wish in an upcoming episode of the third season.

The fantasy series will be delving into Rumple's troubled relationship with his father through flashbacks to the Enchanted Forest. His backstory will be featured in episode 4, titled Nasty Habits.

"We've hinted in the past that [Rumple's] father was a coward," series co-creator Edward Kitsis told E!Online recently. "His father's name was kind of a something that haunted him and that his father left him when he was younger."

Fans of Rumple's relationship with Belle (Emelie de Ravin), affectionately called "Rumbelle" should be pleased to learn that Belle may be traveling to Neverland soon and possibly reuniting with Rumple.

TVLine interviewed de Ravin recently and the actress spilled that Belle would be making a new friend "who may be a mermaid." Since the mermaids are present in Neverland, it is possible that she'll be meeting up with Rumple and the rest of the crew.

Meanwhile, fans of David/Charming (Josh Dallas) and his relationship with Snow/Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Goodwin) and daughter Emma (Jennifer Morrison) may be less fortunate. Kitsis and fellow co-creator Adam Horowitz told TVGuide in a Tuesday report that David might lay down his life to protect his family.

David was poisoned by the Dreamshade substance in the latest episode but chose to conceal it from the rest of the crew. Peter Pan (Robbie Kay) told Emma that she would leave Neverland as an orphan, and Horowitz said that Pan is "a guy of his word." Horowitz also said that his circumstance would be getting even worse in the episodes to come.

Kitsis added that the Dreamshade will bring out the heroic nature of David.

"The way he deals with adversity is truly practicing what he preaches. He's going to put his family first even at the risk of his own life," Kitsis teased.

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
