Miley Cyrus completely severed ties with her former persona Hannah Montana by removing her name from items related to her Disney Channel character on iTunes.

A search with Cyrus' name on the website results in only her solo albums as opposed to previously when the list also included Hannah Montana albums, such as Hannah Montana: The Movie Soundtrack. Some of her previous hits, such as See You Again and The Climb, are also no longer credited to the singer.

It hasn't been ascertained if it was Cyrus who initiated the dissociation or Disney, but it seems more likely that the 20-year-old might be behind it. She talked about being embarrassed with any association to Hannah Montana and her past songs in several interviews. While hosting Saturday Night Live on Oct. 5 she said the character was "murdered," Enstars previously reported.

Cyrus told Billboard in June she wished she could "remove" herself from some of her past work that was up on iTunes.

"Right now, when people go to iTunes and listen to my old music, it's so irritating to me because I can't just erase that stuff and start over," she said. "My last record [2009's Can't Be Tamed] I feel so disconnected from -- I was 16 or 17 when I made it. When you're in your 20s, you just don't really know that person anymore."

Daughter of country musician Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley was only 12 years old when she starred in Disney's Hannah Montana TV franchise. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Billy said he supported his daughter and championed her moving on from the "monster" image of Hannah Montana.

"She was taking a lot of hits from a lot of different directions and something just told me to speak to her. I said, 'I'm proud of you because you knew you had to reinvent [yourself], coming out of this mammoth monster known as 'Hannah Montana,' " he told the publication.

Cyrus' latest album, Bangerz, came out Oct. 8.
