As Agent Coulson slowly realizes that there is something more behind his miraculous recovery than he has been told, Marvelites are wondering weather or not the Agent's revival will factor into Avengers: Age of Ultron.

After Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) met an untimely end on the point of a spear during last year's The Avengers, he allegedly recuperated in Tahiti. However, in the Marvel's Agents of SHIELD pilot, Agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) alluded to the possibility that Coulson was saved by something a bit more supernatural.

"Tahiti's a magical place," Gregg recently told Larry King. "I keep saying that. It's where I went to recover after being impaled and as I say in the pilot, it was a spectacular experience. I had a beautiful physical therapist and I read Travis McGee novels all day. But ever time somebody mentions it lately I seem to go into posttraumatic stress so I think there's a little more to Tahiti then meets the eye."

While neither Coulson nor Gregg know the true nature of his recovery, the team leader has been noticing a few changes. While he is having trouble remembering how to handle his gun, others, such as his former agent Akela Amador (Pascale Armand) have noticed that something is not quite the same

As for whether or not Coulson will make an appearance in the next Avengers outing, Gregg hasn't ruled it out, although he did tiptoe around the topic.

"The one thing I've noticed in working with Marvel is that they don't leave anything on the table," Gregg explained. "If there's a good thing to use in the stories they have been telling that will pay off and that the fans want, they grab it."

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
