Dancing With the Stars pro dancer Derek Hough may have taken issue with a few developments in Monday night's show.

Writing his weekly column for TV Guide, Hough noted that judge Len Goodman criticized Hough for not including enough holds in his foxtrot dance with partner Amber Riley. However, Hough argued that he did not break the rules.

"I wouldn't say I broke the rules because it's not like we didn't have any holds; there just wasn't enough," he wrote. "I thought it was a fun routine and Amber totally killed it."

Hough also criticized host Tom Bergeron's announcement at the beginning of Monday's show that a girl would be eliminated from the competition that night based on votes.

The dancer called the decision to announce this result a "massive slap in the face. The girls were like, 'Yay! Time to dance!' Then it was like, 'What? Oh, shoot.' I think most people got nervous, Amber included."

He also wrote that from a viewer's standpoint the announcement at the beginning made the show more suspenseful. The final result came down to Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani vs. Christina Milian and Mark Ballas. The latter couple wound up being eliminated, which was a result that "stunned" Hough.

As for next week, Hough revealed that he would be dancing the samba with Riley. He said that while the samba is a tough dance, he feels confident in Riley's abilities and thinks it suits her personality well.
