Amber Riley, who is currently participating on this season of Dancing With the Stars, may have benefited from Glee co-star Chris Colfer's clever strategy in getting the public to vote for her.

At the end of Monday night's episode of Dancing With the Stars, the show displayed numbers to call to vote for their favorite couple. However, the phone number to vote for Riley and her partner Derek Hough was incorrect. While Riley tweeted the correct number as soon as she got word, it was her Glee co-star Colfer's tweet that may have gotten her even more votes.

"My cell phone number is 1-800-868-3407," Colfer tweeted to his millions of followers after the show had ended. This phone number was the correct one to call to vote for Riley and Hough. The tweet was re-tweeted and favorited by thousands of accounts.

Guliana Rancic of E! News called out Colfer's tactics on Tuesday, saying "I saw that, I'm like, 'Wait, that is not right. It wasn't like he said, 'Call in Amber,' he literally just put it out there. So, of course, people are going to call, and then they vote for her."

She also admitted that the tactic was "genius" and said that others involved with DWTS wished they had thought of it.

Colfer responded to the E! News story by composing a follow-up tweet:

"Disagree with the ‪@ENews story about me supporting ‪@MsAmberPRiley on DWTS? Call the ‪@ENews hotline at 1-800-868-3407."

Though voting was over by the time he wrote the followup tweet, Riley noticed his tactics and tweeted, "Bwahahhahhhah Chriiiiis hahahahahaa ‪@chriscolfer."

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
