Kim Kardashian opened up about her 43 lb. weight loss following the June birth of her first child North West in the upcoming issue of People magazine, which hits newsstands Friday.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star discussed dealing with the challenges from her weight gain. She told the publication, "Losing this weight has not been easy."

"I did it, and that's so rewarding, I was dedicated and motivated, and for me, that paid off," she said. "This makes me feel like I have the strength to take on other challenges."

She confessed that being pregnant was a lot harder than she presumed it would be. The reality star also described dealing with the media scrutiny and online criticism she received for gaining her pregnancy weight.

"Pregnancy for me was a lot tougher than people saw on my show or from magazines," she said. "So to get back to feeling like myself just makes me feel good again. It's all about feeling your best. Every day I would hear people criticize me, and it would affect me."

"Little by little it would chip away at my soul," she added. "I wanted to tune out the media and my public life and ignore it all."

The newly engaged star said despite the success she has had with shedding 43 lbs., she plans to lose more. She will continue to reduce her caloric intake and exercise to back to her original size.

"This was the biggest challenge of my life, and I still have some to go," she said, adding that she has seven more pounds she wants to shed.
