Just weeks before Boy Meets World "it" couple Cory and Topanga Matthews (Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel) return to television for their spin-off show, Girl Meets Worldthey reunited with the original cast for an Entertainment Weekly interview.

It has been 13 years after ABC's Boy Meets World ended and the original cast still has a connection that goes past the cameras.

Former co-stars including Will Friedle (Eric Matthews), Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter) and William Daniels  -- the beloved teacher and principal Mr. Feeny who followed the gang from middle school to college -- joined Savage and Fishel to reminisce about the show.

Fishel admitted none of the cast members would have predicted that the show would still be popular.

"I don't think any of us anticipated that after the show went off the air it was going to gain in popularity," she told the magazine. "But people still seem to relate to it a lot which is fantastic."

Savage added, "We really had a strong afterlife with the show. I think the themes of the show are kind of timeless."

Many of the cast members still get recognized while they're out and about, they revealed.

'Girl Meets World' Spoilers: Will Friedle Reprising Role as Eric Matthews? 'Boy Meets World' Actor Responds to Rumors

Friedle explained, "You get all the people that are now in their mid-twenties that come up like 'Oh I watched you! I grew up watching you!' That's kinda cool."

Daniels can also relate. He shared a funny story about his own fan encounter and said, "A bus load of young children [spotted me] and started yelling Mr. Feeny! Mr. Feeny! I'm a coward so I ran. I ran all the way around the block."

Friedle also revealed behind-the-scenes stories that explained why he and Strong were rarely filmed on-screen together.

"They never let Rider and I do scenes together because we would look at each other and start laughing," he said. "I think over seven years we've had like five scenes together."

The cast now cringes when looking back at their '90s fashion on the show, noting that dinosaur shirts and hoodies were once their go-to outfits. Rider also revealed that he's "still not stoked on the hair" he once sported.
