While Boy Meets World fans wait for the show's spin-off, Girl Meets World, to debut on the Disney Channel next year, Will Friedle revealed if he will reprise his role as big brother Eric Matthews.

"I will only be involved in the show as a fan," he told Mashable. "I know rumors got around that I would be joining, but I have no plans to be on right now. Who knows what will happen-- if there is a reunion show, I would go and be with everyone."

"I would love to see what Mr. Feeney and Eric are up to right now," he added. "Eric could be either living on the streets or a senator...But Ben [Savage] and Danielle [Fishel] will be great introducing it to a new audience."

'Girl Meets World' Spoilers: Show Axes Older Brother Character, Teo Halm Responds

The Disney Channel gave Girl Meets World the green light to start production on June 17. It's expected to tell the story of Cory (Savage) and Topanga (Fishel) Matthews' daughter, Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard), as she ventures the middle school where her dad works. She's also set to have a younger brother, played by August Maturo.

"Set in New York City, the new comedy series will tell the wonderfully funny, heartfelt stories that Boy Meets World is renowned for-- only this time from a tween girl's perspective," TV Line reported.

The show's Executive Producer Michael Jacobs also said, "Girl Meets World is a new show for a new generation that will be rooted in the same kind of honest, comedic storytelling about coming of age and the importance of family and friendship that made Boy Meets World so popular."
