Kate Upton joined team Gillette to celebrate Movember, inspiring men to try a new look while raising funds and awareness for men's health issues on Oct. 24 in New York City.

Upton was dubbed a "Mo Sista," a female supporter of the mustache cause, for the event.

The 21-year-old model spoke to Good Morning America about the month that champions the trend of mustachiod men

"It started in Australia and I think it was kind of guys being guys and joking around. They were seeing how long they can grow out their hair," she said. "But it's for such a great cause."

She also let audiences know how she wasn't a big fan of wild, unruly mustaches and suggested that men keep it neat, when asked for styling tips.

"I've never had a mustache, so I'm not the expert," Upton said. "I say keep it trim. Being a part of Gillette, I think we're thinking not just grow it out, but keep it a little more trim."

In a very recent interview with Page Six, the supermodel revealed that she was grateful to fashion editor Carine Roitfeld for being the first person to feature her clothed on the cover of a fashion publication.

"She was the first editor who put me on the cover actually wearing clothing," she said.

She got her first fashion cover with Roitfeld's debut CR Fashion Book, shot by Bruce Weber, last year.

Last month, Upton was named the 2013 Model of the Year at the 10th Annual Style Awards.
