Donna Summer reportedly suffered from serious depression after the September 11 World Trade Center attacks, according to DailyMail.  And now, sources told TMZ that the Queen of Disco was convinced that her cancer was due to inhaling toxic air after the horrific attacks. She apparently became almost paranoid about breathing the poisonous air which is believed to be the cause of cancer which was developed by many firemen and rescue workers who worked tirelessly following the aftermath of the attack.
DailyMail reports Summer as saying: "I was really freaked out by the horrific experiences of that day." She was at her Manhattan apartment near Ground Zero during the attacks. "I couldn't go out, I didn't want to talk to anybody. I had to keep the blinds down and stay in my bedroom."

The source told TMZ that Summer would constantly spray disinfectant in the air and hang sheets in her dressing room to prevent dust from coming in. She somehow believed that the terrorist attacks were on Christianity, and that her illness was a result of that.

Although Summer was a smoker and her cancer could well have been because of that, she didn't accept it and blamed it on 9/11.

Queen of Disco Donna Summer died yesterday morning after a long battle with lung cancer. The 63-year-old singer was in Florida at the time of her death and had reportedly kept her battle with cancer quiet. She was even working on an album just before her death.
