In the highly anticipated blockbuster Man of Steel 2, Superman (Henry Cavill) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) may become more than just crime-fighting partners.

Man of Steel 2 a.k.a. Batman vs. Superman will include Wonder Woman as a primary character, and she might even by Superman's new love interest. In the D.C. comics, Superman and Wonder Woman are currently in a relationship with each other, so it's possible that they will also be getting together for the movie.

Charles Soule, the writer of the Superman/Wonder Woman comic book series, told USA Today that the coupling makes sense.

"They're both coming at it from the place of 'I want to share something of myself with this other person,' which is a noble goal. But they're both very different," Soule said, discussing Superman and Wonder Woman. "Superman was raised in the apple-pie Kansas town of Smallville, and Diana was raised in a warrior society on an island in the sea that no one gets to go to. They bring very different things to the table, but they both have the same goal: to share something of themselves and try to build something together."

Man of Steel 2 director Zack Snyder could very well go in his own direction for the film, but considering the casting of an actress/model like Gadot as Wonder Woman in addition to her being introduced in a Superman-centric movie, anything is possible.

This would complicate matters with Lois Lane (Amy Adams), Superman's love interest. Adams recently commented on the potential for a love triangle between the three of them, expressing her desire to not have that be her storyline with Gadot's Wonder Woman.
